I used Red Wine to dye my dress!

Posted in Topsy~Turvy  by Laura on June 29th, 2009

I have a scruffy linen dress that I wear to slob round the house in. I don’t know why I bought it, because the colour is yukky and rather non-descript. I’d say it was it was a very pale green colour originally. The colour made me look even more pale skinned and washed out than I really am, so I decided to dye it.
When I get fed up of something I like to change its appearance, hence my love of dying things; clothes, bags, you name it I’ll dye it.
I didn’t want to wait until I next went shopping to purchase a dye for my dress, so I thought I’d use something I already had.
First I tried coffee. The coffee did change the colour of the dress, but when I washed it all of the coffee colour came out. Typical, that never happens when I spill coffee on my clothes, they remain stained for eternity!
Anyway, after the coffee failed to permanently change the colour of my dress, I decided to try once more before chucking the dress away.
This time I tried red wine, just a very small amount of cheap plonk that had been left in a bottle, as I didn’t want to see a grown man cry, which is exactly what my hubby would have done had I used anything particularly drinkable. :o
I soaked my dress in the red wine for a couple of hours, although I knew it had worked as soon as my dress was completely wet with red wine because it instantly turned a dark shade of pink.
I like pink, but it doesn’t like me, it doesn’t suit my skin tone. So I was very pleased when I washed my dress as the pink tinge washed out leaving a pale grey colour behind.
I know grey isn’t a particularly bright or cheerful colour, but I definitely prefer it to the original pale green colour of my dress, and as I said before I only wear it indoors.
So instead of paying 6 Euros for a dye, I used a few sips of red wine and voila I feel like I have a new dress. :)
So, top tip; if you want to dye something and you haven’t got a clothes dye, use red wine.
Maybe I have way too much time on my hands, or too much wine. Is there such a thing as having too much wine? No, I don’t think there is, drinking too much wine on the other hand … well that’s a topic for another post. :)

I know the photos are pretty crap, but the dress really does look much better in the flesh.
Now, what can I dye next and what substance should I try?

Bull born with two penises in Zoborie, Central Russia

Posted in News  by Laura on June 28th, 2009

A horny bull born with two penises has become a tourist attraction in remote Zoborie, central Russia.
Apparently visitors are flocking to see him.
The bulls owner Jevgeny Trofimov has turned down offers from vets to remove one of the organs.
Jevgeny Trofimov said, “I think he should stay as nature made him - and I don’t think the bull would be very happy either.”

This sounds like a cock ‘n bull story to me. :o

Child Models embrace their inner ZZ Top at Diesel Fashion Show in Italy

Posted in Fashion and Accessories, Funny Pictures  by Laura on June 27th, 2009

Children modelling at the latest collection from clothing chain Diesel, at the 69th Pitti Immagine Bimbo children’s fashion show in Florence, Italy, walked down the catwalk wearing long beards like rock veterans ZZ Top.
The models resemblance to band members Dusty Hill and Billy Gibbons was remarkable. :o

These children may be smiling now, but when they’re older will they accuse their parents of child abuse, or just crimes against fashion?

89 Year Old Crashes Car Into Opticians

Posted in News  by Laura on June 27th, 2009

A pensioner crashed his car through the front window of an opticians.
The glasses wearing 89 year old driver said a dizzy spell caused the wreck after he mounted the pavement and smashed through two display units inside the opticians.
The driver stopped right in front of three members of staff at the opticians in Seaford, East Sussex, England, causing £20,000 damage.
Thankfully no one was hurt.

Dizzy spell? I think it’s time he got some stronger lenses for his glasses.
I wonder if he was offered a free eye test?

Bertrand Piccard Unveils £60 Million Solar Powered Plane

Posted in Cool Stuff ~ Gadgets  by Laura on June 27th, 2009

Adventurer Bertrand Piccard unveiled The Solar Impulse, a £60 Million solar powered plane, in Zurich, Switzerland, yesterday.

Inventors hope the solar powered aircraft will be the first plane to fly round the world powered entirely by sunlight.
The Solar Impulse is part of a £60million bid to make flight history. The Solar Impulse has the wingspan of a Boeing 747, and will fly day and night using 12,000 solar cells, rechargeable lithium batteries, and four electric motors. It won’t use any fuel. The average flight speed is 44mph.
The prototype plane only weighs 1.6 tons with four ten-horsepower electric engines, it is due to take part in test flights over the next two years.
Bertrand Piccard said, “It will be an ambassador of renewable energies.”

Hmmm, solar powered, good for the environment … blah blah blah, but an average flight speed of 44mph. It’s not a perfect machine is it. :o

Michael Jackson Is Dead, Age 50 ~ 1958-2009

Posted in News, Topsy~Turvy  by Laura on June 26th, 2009

Michael Jackson is dead. He was 50 years old.

When I woke up this morning and my hubby told me that Michael Jackson was dead, I didn’t consider it to be bad news, or sad new. It was good to wake up to good news for a change. I felt happy. :)
I used to be a fan of Michael Jackson, I’ve seen him in concert, he was an amazing performer and entertainer.
However, after the news broke over the child abuse claims, I instantly stopped being a fan.
Michael Jackson was a paedophile.
The fact that he was never convicted and never served jail time is irrelevant. Had he not been famous and very wealthy, he would not have been able to buy himself out of trouble, and I have no doubt that he would have been found guilty and sent to jail.
In one of the most widely reported cases concerning Michael Jackson, a young boy accused him of sexual abuse. Michael Jackson reportedly paid between $15 and $40 million to settle the action.
There have been several other reports of Michael Jacksons Paedophillia; he reportedly sexually abused the son of a theme park executive in Japan.
Unfortunately I doubt these are Michael Jacksons only victims.
If Michael Jackson was guilt free I don’t believe he would have ever considered paying anyone off. Surely any person who is wrongly accused of such a disgusting crime would fight to clear their name, and sue those who had wrongly accused them.

Copies of the previously secret court papers from the 1993 court case against Michael Jackson can be seen by clicking here.
WARNING ~ These court paper contain detailed descriptions of what happened between Michael Jackson and the then 13 year old boy. Only read if you have a strong stomach.

In America the public outpouring of grief has already started, with many famous people commenting about Michael Jacksons death.
Madonna reportedly said, “I can’t stop crying over the sad news”.
Usher reportedly said he was “deeply saddened”.
Steven Spielberg reportedly said, “There will never be another Michael Jackson”. ~ Let’s hope not!
I doubt all of the sentiments expressed about Michael Jacksons death over the next few days and weeks by celebrities will all be genuine. I think many of them will simply follow the herd by making positive comments because they won’t want to risk their own careers by being honest.

Here’s what the news is currently reporting about the death of one of the worlds most famous peadophiles ~
On 25 June 2009, Michael Jackson reportedly collapsed at his rented home in Holmby Hills in Los Angeles.
After he collapsed Michael Jackson’s personal physician reportedly attempted to resuscitate him.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a 911 call at 12:21 pm, they reportedly arrived at Michael Jacksons home nine minutes later.
Michael Jackson was not breathing and CPR was performed. Resuscitation efforts continued en route to the UCLA Medical Centre, and after arrival at approximately 1:14 pm for a further hour.
Michael Jackson reportedly remained in a coma and died shortly after arrival.
Michael Jackson was pronounced dead at about 2:26 pm local time.
The cause of death is being reported as a heart attack.

I do feel sad about all of the people commenting that Michael Jackson was a musical genius and how sad it is that he’s dead, as if his talent is an excuse for his despicable behaviour.
As far as I am concerned there are no excuses for the behaviour of a paedophile.
I’m sure that all of the people round the world who have ever been hurt by a paedophile will not be shedding a single tear for Michael Jackson, they will be celebrating - I know I am.

I’m not convinced about God and the Devil, Heaven and Hell, but maybe just maybe there is a God. A vengeful God who has removed a paedophile from earth.
One less paedophile living among us is definitely a good thing.
I just find it all so sad that Michael Jackson is still considered by so many people to be some kind of icon, especially in America. I am saddened by the reaction of his deluded fans who refuse to accept that he was a paedophile. You’d think he’d found a cure for cancer or brought about world peace from the way some people are talking about him. He made some good music, that’s all.
I can’t understand how anyone in their right mind can feel any sympathy over his death.

Michael Jackson 1958~2009 Rest in Peace. NO! Rot in Hell for Eternity.

The Worlds Shortest Fairy Tale

Posted in Jokes  by Laura on June 25th, 2009

Once upon a time, a boy asked a girl, “Will you marry me?”
The girl replied, “NO!”
And the girl lived happily ever after. She went shopping, dancing, camping, drank martinis, always had a clean house, never had to cook, did whatever she wanted, never argued, didn’t get fat, travelled, had many lovers, didn’t save money, and had all the hot water to herself. She went to the theatre, never watched sports, never wore uncomfortable lacy lingerie, had high self esteem, never cried or yelled, felt and looked fabulous in shorts or sweatpants, and was pleasant all the time.
The End. :o
