Homeless Japanese Woman Found In Man’s Closet; She Had Lived There For A Year!
A homeless woman reportedly snuck into a man’s house and lived there in his closet for a year undetected.
The woman was arrested in Japan after the home owner noticed that his food was disappearing.
Police spokesman Hiroki Itakura from southern Kasuya town said Friday that Police had found the 58-year-old woman on Thursday, she was hiding in the top compartment of the man’s closet. They arrested her for trespassing.
After becoming suspicious about his food disappearing the resident of the home installed security cameras which transmitted images to his mobile phone.
One of the cameras captured someone moving about inside his home Thursday after he had left, so thinking he was being burgled he phoned the police.
But when the police arrived at the man’s property they found that the door was locked and all of the windows were closed.
Police spokesman Hiroki Itakura said, “We searched the house, checking everywhere someone could possibly hide. When we slid open the shelf closet, there she was, nervously curled up on her side.”
The woman told the police that she had nowhere else to live, and that she initially snuck into the man’s house about a year ago after he left it leaving the door unlocked. Hiroki Itakura said the woman moved a mattress into the small closet, and even took showers. He called the woman “neat and clean.”
