I quite like this dress from Moschino’s Cheap & Chic range.
It’s black which isn’t very exciting I know, it’s a silk and bamboo blend, knee length with a wraparound skirt section, it has a sweetheart neckline, a low-cut back, cap sleeves, ruched detailing at waist, and zip fastening. What’s not to love?
I think it’s a perfect little dress to wear anywhere, anywhere casual that is.
Price approximately €434.

“You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today.
They left a little note on the windscreen, it said ‘Parking Fine.’
So that was nice.”

This could be the next big thing in anti car theft devices. It’s one way to stop thieves stealing your car, dig a big hole in the snow and bury it.
It’s not a very practical plan though is it?

I am seriously fed up of hearing about size zero ~ UK size 4.
It seems everywhere I look there are slim women being accused of being too skinny, and being bad role models, and making other women feel bad about their bodies etc.
Leave them alone, they haven’t set themselves up as role models, most of the women the media like to accuse are celebrities, singers, actors, not role models. I bet it’s just overweight journalists who are jealous of their skinny sisters who are responsible for the backlash against the slim.
As far as I know a size zero (UK 4), apart from being a ludicrous title as it implies there is nothing to be measured, measurements are ~
31.5 inch bust
23 inch waist
34 inch hips
None of those figures seem particularly small to me.
I have read several times that Victoria Beckham has the same waist measurement as an 11 year old child. I have also read that she stays so slim by simply not eating very much. How does she do it? I love food too much to deny myself.
I have also read several times that today’s children are seriously overweight.
In which case, Victoria Beckham having the same waist size as an 11 year old would surely mean that she is not that skinny after all.
I don’t think people, mainly celebrities, that most of the women’s magazines and newspaper articles mention, are as skinny and undernourished as we are lead to believe.
I think it’s more a case of us all being a lot bigger than we used to be years ago, in the 1950’s for example.
In the 1950’s the average woman’s measurements were approximately ~
37 inch bust
27.5 inch waist
37.5 inch hips
Today the average woman’s measurements are ~
38.5 inch bust
34 inch waist
39 inch hips
The average waist has increased by 6.5 inches, which is quite a lot I suppose, but the bust and hips are roughly the same.
If Victoria Beckham was particularly undernourished how has she managed to conceive and deliver three healthy children?
Nicole Richie is another celebrity who had to endure images of her body being splashed across the media with hurtful headlines about her skinny frame. Yet she too has recently delivered a healthy baby daughter.
Yes, I admit, some people are very slim, but there are also lots of people worldwide who are very overweight. Every body is different.
I personally think that most of us are carrying too much weight. You only have to look at the human skeleton to know that we are not built to carry a particularly large load. If we were then surely our skeletons would be the same size as a Sauropods skeleton.
We are built to carry our muscles, a little fat, and our skin, nothing more, nothing less.
In the developed world I’m sure more people die from complications cause by being overweight, than die from being underweight.
But if certain people want to be what is considered skinny, then good luck to them, it’s their body, their life. Why should they be made to feel bad because they are a size zero?
Although I am not fat, my waist is larger than a size zero.
but I wouldn’t mind being as slim as Victoria Beckham et al.
Having said that, my usual contradictory nature does make me suddenly feel unnaturally large. Maybe it is the fault of these annoyingly skinny people, maybe they are too skinny?

I saw these online and I thought they were pretty cool. I’m not sure why the world needs wooden postcards. but they make a change from traditional postcards, and you don’t need a pen wo write on them.
To write a message on these postcards you have to scratch and/or carve the words using a knife, or other sharp implement.
As knife crime is escalating out of control on the streets of London, these wooden postcards have the potential to become big sellers.
Then again, I’m not sure the average violent, knife carrying, thug that prowls the streets of England searching for their next victim is much of a writer, or if they can even write.
You can purchase these wooden postcards from zSuaro for £6.95 $14.

A LILY-GIRL, not made for this world’s pain,
With brown, soft hair close braided by her ears,
And longing eyes half veiled by slumberous tears
Like bluest water seen through mists of rain:
Pale cheeks whereon no love hath left its stain,
Red underlip drawn in for fear of love,
And white throat, whiter than the silvered dove,
Through whose wan marble creeps one purple vein.
Yet, though my lips shall praise her without cease,
Even to kiss her feet I am not bold,
Being o’ershadowed by the wings of awe,
Like Dante, when he stood with Beatrice
Beneath the flaming Lion’s breast, and saw
The seventh Crystal, and the Stair of Gold.

I like this painting, nothing more to say, too tired.
It’s called Pallas Athene by Gustav Klimt.
